RACHELLE AKUFFO: Now Boeing is in talks to make a landmark deal with Delta Airlines. Reuters is reporting Delta is nearing a deal to order 100 737 Max 10 Jets from Boeing, marking the first major Boeing order for the carrier in a decade if confirmed. Now Delta is currently the only major US airline that doesn’t have the 737 Max in its fleet.
Taking a look at the major carriers today, let’s take a look at where they’re standing. We’re seeing all of them in the green right now. Delta up 0.63%, United Airlines up 0.79%, American up 0.19%, and Southwest up, moving– no, it’s still United Airlines which is up more than the rest, with Southwest at 0.66. And of course, JetBlue there, up 0.16%.
So as we saw, though, as we speak about American Airlines, they are bringing the party back to the skies. The carrier announced today it will resume alcohol sales starting April 18, a move that has been on pause for over two years due to COVID, as well as the rise of unruly passengers. Now, Brad, I don’t know about you, but my drink of choice when I’m flying, if they have it, is a Martini Rosso with a twist of cranberry and a squeeze of lime. How about you?
BRAD SMITH: Oh, my gosh, I’m going to sound so basic. Just a whiskey ginger is fine, or red wine. Bad wine puts me to sleep, and that’s almost guaranteed on most planes, so I’m just here for the nap and the safe arrival to the destination at the end of the day.
