Delta Restarts Seasonal New York-Prague Route

Delta Air Lines has added another destination to its network this summer after resuming service to Prague in the Czech Republic. The airline has returned to the European city for the first time after COVID, which forced it to cancel this route due to restrictions and low demand.

The only nonstop service between the Czech Republic and the US

Delta Air Lines has restored its flights to Prague for the summer season with a daily service from May 26th. The first flight took off at around 22:00 on Thursday from New York JFK and landed at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) at 11:30 the following morning after seven and a half hours.

Demand for the route seemed high, with both the inbound and outbound flights operating at near capacity. Thomas Brandt, Delta’s regional sales manager, who traveled on the service from New York, said,

“We’re delighted to return to Prague today for the first time since 2019 and the full flight shows the demand for travel to this beautiful city. The removal of all covid entry requirements last month has had a positive impact on bookings. We’re looking forward to a successful summer season connecting Prague to New York and beyond, while also supporting our respective tourism economies.”

Delta operates more flights to Europe out of JFK than any other US carrier, with its flight to Prague operating in conjunction with its joint venture partners Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic.
