Delta Air Lines is ready to restart flights to another destination after a break of two years. From April 12th, the US carrier will resume operations between Detroit and Frankfurt. Starting with five flights a week, the airline will increase the frequency between the two cities to daily from May.

Forced to suspend services between Detroit and Frankfurt due to the COVID pandemic, Delta Air Lines will start flying between the two cities from April 12th after a gap of 25 months. The airline will deploy its Airbus A330-200 airplane which can carry 223 passengers.
As reported by Aviacionline, Delta will initially fly five times a week, offering almost 900 seats in a week on each leg. From May 2nd, the carrier will increase the frequency of the flights to once daily.

The airline already connects Detroit with three European cities: London, Amsterdam, and Paris. Frankfurt will be the city’s fourth transatlantic route from the carrier.

Delta increases flights to Europe
About two weeks ago, Delta Air Lines revealed its expansion plans to Europe this summer, detailing several flights it plans to operate to the continent. Delta’s Midwest hubs in Detroit and Minneapolis alone will operate up to 14 daily nonstop flights to the airline’s global hubs in Amsterdam, London, and Paris, as well as daily service to Frankfurt, Munich, and Reykjavik.
