New Delhi: Ahead of Ram Temple consecration ceremony on January 22, 2024, IndiGo started direct flight operations between Mumbai and Ayodhya on Monday. The low cost airline’s flight from Mumbai-Ayodhya is expected to be a big hit amongst the masses as a huge number of people are expected to visit the temple town in Ayodhya.
The IndiGo flight will take off from Mumbai at 12:30 pm and reach Ayodhya at 2:45 pm. The flight will commence its return journey at 3:15 pm from the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya and land in Mumbai at 5:40 pm.
To tap into the emerging market of Ayodhya, IndiGo launched direct flights between Ayodhya and Delhi on December 13, 2024 strategically aligning with the impending inauguration of the Ram temple.
IndiGo is also operating 3 flights a week between Ayodhya and Ahmedabad.
Air India flights to Ayodhya
Meanwhile, Tata-owned Air India Express has announced plans to start flight operations between Delhi and Ayodhya from 30 December 2024.
Air India Express is all set to connect Ayodhya with two cities, including Kolkata and Bengaluru by starting flight on January 17.
The Bengaluru-Ayodhya Air India flight is scheduled to take off at 8:05 am on January 17 and arrive in Ayodhya at 10:35 am. The AI flight will kickstart its Ayodhya-Bengaluru journey at 3:40 pm and land at Bengaluru airport at 6:10 pm.
The Kolkata-Ayodhya AI flight will take off from Ayodhya at 11:05 am and reach Kolkata at 12:50 pm. The Ayodhya-Kolkata Air India plane will commence its journey from Kolkata airport at 1:25 pm and touchdown on Ayodhya airport at 3:10 pm.
SpiceJet flights to Ayodhya airport
Spicejet is also set to start Delhi-Ayodhya flights on January 21. The airline will also start flight operations between Mumbai-Ayodhya, Bengaluru-Ayodhya, and Chennai-Ayodhya in February.
The Ram temple in Ayodhya is going to be one of the most visited religious and pilgrimage centres of the country. Crores of people are estimated to visit Ayodhya once the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla is done.
