kenya airways kisumu: A Kenya Airways plane was temporarily grounded at Kisumu International Airport after a bird hit on the runway on Thursday.
Even though the aircraft landed safely and all the passengers on board were safe, it was unable to exit the runway as the bird strike affected the operating components.
“Kenya Airways (KQ) confirms that on 30 May 2024 at approximately 18:36 hrs KQ670 was hit by a bird while landing at Kisumu International Airport, resulting in the aircraft being temporarily stuck on the runway.
The aircraft landed safely at Kisumu, although it was not able to fully exit the runway as the bird strike affected the aircraft’s operating components. All passengers and crew on board are safe. said K.K.
The airline further confirmed that they are working with the relevant authorities to remove the aircraft and resume normal operations. Passengers of the affected flights will be provided with updated travel information.
