kenya airways kisumu: Kenya Airways has confirmed that all passengers on board flight KQ670 are safe after the aircraft hit a bird while landing at Kisumu International Airport.
The KQ said the incident took place around 6.36 am on Thursday.
A statement sent Thursday evening by the Office of Corporate Communications said the incident resulted in the plane being temporarily stuck on the runway.
“The aircraft landed safely at Kisumu, however, it was not able to fully exit the runway as the bird strike affected the aircraft’s operating components,” the statement said.
“All passengers and crew on board are safe,” the statement said.
The airline said they are working with the relevant authorities to remove the aircraft and resume normal operations.
It further said that passengers of the affected flights will be provided with updated travel information and assistance as per requirement.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and assure our passengers of their safety and comfort which is our top priority,” the airline said.
