Tazania’s aviation authority sys it will not permit any Kenya Airways flights from Nairobi to land in Dar es Salaam from Monday.
According to a statement from the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Kenya’s move violated the two countries’ 2016 agreement.
Hamza Johari, Director General of the TCCA, added, “We have written to Kenyan authorities, but they have not responded.” We tried other forms of arbitration without success.
While other airlines fly the Nairobi-Dar es Salaam route, this tit-for-tat action may increase costs and disrupt the travel plans of thousands of tourists and businesspeople who have come to rely on Kenya Airways.
Kenya Airways says the airline is engaging the Civil Aviation Authorities and relevant government agencies in Kenya and Tanzania to find a solution to flight disruptions between Nairobi and Dar es Salaam.
