United Airlines Holdings Inc. is postponing its investor day next month amid increased scrutiny following a string of recent safety incidents.
United (UAL) said in an email to analysts and other industry observers that it remains “confident” in its strategy and financial results, but that the meeting’s timing is not right.
“Our entire team is focused on cooperating with the [Federal Aviation Administration] to review our safety protocols and it would simply send the wrong message to our team to have an exciting investor day focused primarily on financial results,” United said in the email, which it shared with MarketWatch.
The event had been scheduled for May 1. United said in the email that it hoped to reschedule it for early fall.
