Vietjet is set to become the first airline to connect Ho Chi Minh City and Brisbane directly with the introduction of twice-weekly flights from June. To mark the launch, all eco-class tickets on Vietjet flights between Vietnam and Australia will be available for a “zero dollar” base cost until 22 March. The airline is also offering Australian customers complimentary domestic transfer flights. Vietjet’s flights to Australia will be flown by an Airbus A330-300, offering seating options from SkyBoss business class for 12 to economy deluxe class for 365. Direct flights between the two cities are expected to boost Queensland’s tourism industry by A$38.5m ($28m) in the first year.
