Axis Bank changes rewards earning for Axis Vistara Credit Cards with effect from January 2024
Axis Bank has been on a roll with respect to modifying product features on their credit cards. After granting a roughly 40-day notice for the changes to the Axis Bank Magnus Credit Card, the Reserve Credit Card, and four of their affluent card today, updates have been made to their Club Vistara co-branded credit cards. These will go live on January 3, 2024.
Axis Bank Vistara Credit Card Changes effective January 3, 2024
With effect from January 3, 2024, the following changes will apply to Axis Bank Vistara co-branded Credit Cards:
- Government services transactions will not be eligible for earning Club Vistara points and achieving milestone benefits.
- Utility transactions will not be eligible for earning Club Vistara points and achieving milestone benefits.
The following are the Merchant Codes to identify the categories:
- Government Services:
- Fines: 9222
- Tax Payment: 9311
- Government Services not classified elsewhere:9399
- Postage Stamps: 9402
- Utilities:
- Telecom/Phone: 4814
- Computer Network Services: 4816
- Cable Television/Pay TV or Radio: 4899
- Electric, Gas, Sanitary, Telephone or Water Utilities: 4900

Axis Bank has made significant changes to its Vistara co-brand credit cards. The changes include those where customers could make big spends on the card and get through milestones easily. All changes go live on January 3, 2024.
