Indian full-service carrier Vistara has received and deployed its fourth Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, joining a fleet that had not grown as aggressively as anticipated due to Covid-19 delays and an extended FAA delivery halt from May 2021 to August 2022. The airline initially ordered six of the jets from Boeing in 2018 and leased its first 787-9 from AerCap in 2020. Boasting 30 business, 21 premium economy and 248 economy seats, the standard 787-9 is suited to Vistara’s key markets of Paris, Frankfurt, London and, potentially, Tokyo or new European hubs envisaged following a pending merger with Air India.
