Indian airline Vistara has launched direct flights between Mumbai and Mauritius, its 15th international destination and its first in Africa. Vistara will operate five flights a week using its recently acquired A321LR aircraft, which features a three-class configuration that includes a premium economy cabin. Vinod Kannan, CEO of Vistara, said the move was in response to the “long-standing relations and strong trade ties” between the countries, as well as the potential for growing tourism traffic to the island nation. Vistara has won a number of safety and customer service awards, including World’s Top 20 Airlines and Best Airline in India and Southern Asia.
