Unruly behavior by some passengers inside flights has continued to be a recurrent issue, with recent reports indicating that drunk passengers were allegedly harassing others on a Vistara flight. A passenger complained on Twitter, stating that despite the bothersome behavior of the intoxicated passengers, the crew gave them more drinks, did not control the situation, and completely ignored it. The passenger further added that instead of reprimanding the culprits, the crew laughed off the situation, making light of it while disembarking. The official response from Vistara stated that the crew was trained to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone onboard, and that such behavior was unacceptable. In the last two years, a total of 139 incidents were reported to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the civil aviation safety regulator, leading to the issuance of guidelines on the handling of unruly or disruptive passengers to ensure the safety of aircraft, individuals, and property onboard.
