Vistara Flights Diverted from Delhi Airport to Lucknow and Amritsar
New Delhi: Several flights destined for Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) have been diverted to alternative airports due to adverse weather conditions, according to announcements by Vistara airlines. The airlines announced these diversions on its official X (formally known as twitter) handle. Flight UK944 originating from Mumbai to Delhi (BOM-DEL) has been rerouted to Amritsar (ATQ) due to the inclement weather. Passengers onboard this flight are anticipated to arrive at Amritsar International Airport at approximately 1800 hours local time.
Similarly, flights UK788 from Bhubaneswar (BBI-DEL) and UK896 from Trivandrum (TRV-DEL) have been redirected to Lucknow (LKO) airport. These flights, affected by the adverse weather, are projected to land in Lucknow at around 1710 hours and 1700 hours respectively.
According to ANI, so far 16 flights have been diverted between 1500hrs-1630hrs today in Delhi, due to bad weather. The decision to divert these flights comes after warnings issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall across the National Capital Region (NCR). Additionally, isolated areas are expected to experience heavy rainfall coupled with gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 50 kilometres per hour.

According to the latest IMD update, several places in the capital, such as Bahadurgarh, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Manesar, are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall within the next two hours.
The IMD mentioned in a post on X that thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain and occasional heavy rain may occur over isolated places. Additionally, gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30 to 50 kilometres per hour are expected in these areas.
