Indian airline Vistara has announced that it will commence a new service between London Heathrow and Mumbai from 1 June 2022. The airline is already operating flights from Heathrow to Delhi, as well as services from Frankfurt and Paris Charles de Gaulle airports to Delhi. The new route will be operated using a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with three cabins and will operate five flights per week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Vistara’s CEO, Vinod Kannan, attributes the new route to growing customer preference for Vistara for travel between India and the UK. The airline is a joint venture between Singapore Airlines and Indian conglomerate Tata and reached an agreement to merge with rival Indian carrier Air India in November 2022. Vistara has announced plans to expand its presence in Europe, particularly with the addition of more wide-body aircraft to its fleet.
