Growing steadily
While Vistara enjoys a significant presence in India, it has grown its international network significantly. From Mumbai alone, it has a total of 14 international destinations, including Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, Dammam, Dhaka, Doha, Dubai, Frankfurt, Jeddah, London Heathrow, Male, Mauritius, Muscat, and Singapore.

Its Mumbai-Doha flight was recently launched on December 15 and was operated by an Airbus A321neo aircraft. Vistara deploys its A321s to several medium-haul international flights and its Dreamliners to long-haul European destinations.
In recent months, it has launched several international flights, such as Mumbai-Frankfurt, Delhi-Hong Kong, and Delhi-Bali, among others. In September, it also reached a milestone of operating 300 flights a day.
Fleet development
Even as Vistara is less than a year away from its eventual merger with Air India, it continues to enhance its fleet and operate as a separate entity. The carrier recently welcomed its 50th Airbus A320neo aircraft and now has a total of 66 aircraft, including 50 Airbus A320neo, 10 Airbus A321, and six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The additional Dreamliner capacity has also helped it expand its European presence with more flights.

Vistara’s CEO Vinod Kannan recently said that the airline’s new planes would mostly be used to add more international routes in the coming months. He told Bloomberg,
“We will continue to expand internationally and we feel that demand will continue to grow. There will be two or three more new routes coming through in the first quarter of next year.”
To stay competitive in the international sector, Vistara also recently announced that it will offer complimentary WiFi service to all Club Vistara Members traveling overseas on its Boeing 787 and Airbus A321 aircraft.
