Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is planning to hire up to 400 pilots and cabin crew this year as it increases its routes and share of demand for budget flying. The carrier flew around 600,000 passengers in Q1 2023, with passenger numbers rising six-fold to 1.2 million passengers in 2022, and its fleet size increasing from four to nine A321-neo aircraft. It now flies to 39 destinations in 25 countries and has plans to expand into other GCC countries, especially Saudi Arabia. The airline is also working on applying for permits to launch services to India and Pakistan. Wizz Air Abu Dhabi aims to remain an ultra-low-cost carrier and says it does not intend to add premium cabins.
