Low-cost airline Wizz Air saw a 32.3% year-on-year increase in passenger numbers for April 2023, carrying just under five million passengers with a load factor of 90.9%. Capacity rose by 21.4%, with 5,418,024 seats available. Carbon dioxide emissions were up 27.8% compared to last April, at 447,788 tonnes, while CO2 grams per passenger kilometre were down 10% to 51.3 CO2 grams per passenger kilometre. April saw Wizz Air continue to grow its network, add aircraft and invest £5m in sustainable aviation fuel company Firefly. Shares in Wizz Air Holdings rose 2.58% to 3,099p.
