Nordic carrier Finnair will cancel 70 flights on Thursday (27 March) following planned strike action by Finnish aviation and transport workers’ unions.
The industrial action, set to take place between 14:00 and 16:00, will affect the carrier’s flight operations and ground services at Helsinki Airport, and is expected to cause additional delays and disruption for other carriers operating at the airport.
In a statement, the airport said operations “will be gradually restored after the demonstration”.
Finnair said its planned cancellations will affect approximately 6,500 customers, with the carrier’s chief operating officer Jaakko Schildt insisting “we will do our very best to offer a suitable new routing to everyone”.
