Finnair has launched a new inflight messaging service available on all European flights operated by the carrier’s narrow-body Airbus fleet.
The service is free for Finnair Plus frequent flyers and allows passengers to send and receive text-based messages via apps such as WhatsApp, Viber, Kakao Talk, WeChat, and iMessage.
Finnair market director UK & Ireland Anssi Partanen said: “Now more than ever, we appreciate the need for connectivity – even at 35,000 feet – so we know this new initiative will be extremely popular with customers.”
From January 2024, the carrier’s free 30-minute browsing package for Finnair Plus Gold and Platinum members will also be upgraded to a 30-minute streaming package.
Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo members will continue to receive complimentary access to the inflight streaming package for the entire duration of short-haul flights.
