The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)’s mid-year report projects strong growth in international visitor arrivals (IVA) for the Asia Pacific region for 2024. This follows PATA’s initial forecast released earlier this year. The update will be officially released in July and it buys into the previous report’s projection of a substantial yearly increase in IVAs in the region, surpassing pre-Covid 2019 levels for the first time, in either 2024, for the mild scenario, or 2025, for the medium scenario. Nonetheless, according to the severe scenario, 2024 arrivals would remain 31% lower than 2019 levels and 13% lower by 2026. The IVA figures in Asia, the Americas, and the Pacific could exceed 2019 figures in 2024, with the mild scenario. In addition, PATA released its 39 individual reports of the Asia Pacific Destination Forecasts 2024-2026 series, sponsored by Visa and containing the latest insights and data from Euromonitor.
