Travelers from Australia and New Zealand can now enter China without a visa for tourism, business, and transit purposes for up to 15 days as China implements a visa-free policy. Also, both Australia and China have agreed to provide mutual multiple-entry visas valid for three to five years. The National Immigration Administration of China (NIA) reported an increasing number of Australian visitors. As per the NIA in October 2023, a list of 53 eligible countries for 72/144-hour visa-free transit was released, including countries like the UK, France, and Australia. Furthermore, as of May this year, foreign tourists have been allowed entry via cruise ship without a visa. This new policy supports inbound visits, particularly from Australian residents residing in Chinese communities.
