Fully vaccinated Indians who wish to travel to Singapore can now apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP). The development came after aviation regulators from both countries decided to resume daily commercial passenger flights from India from November 29.
Eligible passengers can apply for a VTP on the online portal and the facility started on Monday. India is now added to Singapore’s Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) list that are exempted from quarantine upon arrival. However, travellers must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 and digital proof is mandatory for the same. There will be six flights from India to Singapore- two each from Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai under the VTL list. The online portal for applying for the pass will open at 6PM.
Documents needed to apply for VTP
-Travellers must have full digital proof for vaccination against Covid-19 to apply for VTP.
-Passengers are also required to undergo two Covid-19 tests, of which the first test has to be taken before departing for the city-state. The other test has to be taken upon arrival at the Changi Airport, after which the travellers will have to keep themselves under self-isolation till the result turns out to be negative.
-In case of short-term visitors, a Covid-19 insurance policy is also needed. The short-term visitors travelling to Singapore under VTL have to purchase travel insurance with a minimum coverage of $30,000 against pandemic related medical expenses.
-Foreign short-term visitors must have a valid visa to enter Singapore. Short-term visitors having travel documents that need a visa must apply for the same.
Here’s how you can apply for VTP
Step 1: Go to the official website of the Singapore Government Agency. Click on ‘Create New VTP Application’.
Step 2: Enter your name and active e-mail address. An OTP will be generated.
