Australian travel technology provider Aeronology has launched a new corporate booking tool called Taero. The tool aims to complement and service bookings that are not available through online booking tools (OBTs). Taero connects with all travel management company (TMC) and corporate air channel services to simplify, reduce costs, and increase productivity 24/7, regardless of the business’s location.
Russell Carstensen, the founder and CEO of Aeronology, explained that Taero’s marketing focus would be directed towards TMCs and corporate booking tool users. Taero connects with all New Distribution Capability (NDC), low-cost carrier, and global distribution systems (GDS) passenger name records (PNRs) generated by TMCs. This means that Taero can handle all other OBT servicing.
Taero has connectivity with the three major GDSs, TravelSky in China, and proprietary technology that connects and provides full self-service to NDC bookings with several airlines, including Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, and Emirates. Aeronology plans to add British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and American Airlines within the next few months. Taero also includes content from low-cost carriers such as Jetstar and Scoot.
The self-servicing capabilities in Taero allow users to change flights, manage bag allowances and seats, and make special service requests for meals and mobility needs. It can also connect to visa, health, and passport requirements.
Aeronology takes a middleware approach, aiming to collaborate with TMCs even if their clients contract directly with Aeronology. The company provides self-service applications to the TMCs and can connect via API to TMC services like reporting, hotels, carbon footprint calculation, and traveler compliance and safety.
Carstensen states that the Taero business model is designed to provide overall service improvements at all levels of the air booking process, with potential large cost savings for TMCs, corporate travel arrangers, and travelers.
