Australian travel technology provider Aeronology has launched a new corporate booking tool called Taero. The tool is designed to complement and service bookings that are not available through online booking tools. Taero aims to collaborate with travel management companies (TMCs) and corporate air channel services in order to simplify the booking process, reduce costs, and increase productivity. It connects to all major distribution systems, including New Distribution Capability (NDC), low-cost carriers, and global distribution systems (GDSs). Taero also offers self-service capabilities, allowing users to change flights, manage bag allowances and seats, and make special service requests such as meals and mobility needs. It can also connect to visa, health, and passport requirements.
Aeronology plans to collaborate with TMCs using Taero by providing self-service applications and connecting via API to services such as reporting, hotels, carbon footprint calculation, and traveler compliance and safety. The company aims to provide overall service improvements and cost savings at all levels of the air booking process. In the next few months, Taero will add British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and American Airlines to its list of supported airlines, in addition to its existing partnerships with Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, Jetstar, and Scoot.
The launch of Taero marks a strategic move by Aeronology to tap into the corporate travel market and provide a comprehensive solution for businesses. By offering a tool that can handle bookings not available through online booking tools, Taero aims to provide a more streamlined and cost-effective solution for companies and travel management companies alike. The self-service capabilities of Taero also provide flexibility and convenience for travelers, allowing them to manage their bookings and preferences on their own.
Aeronology’s founder and CEO, Russell Carstensen, believes that Taero has the potential to bring significant cost savings to TMCs, corporate travel arrangers, and travelers. The company’s “middleware” approach allows it to collaborate with TMCs of customers using Taero, even if those customers are contracting directly with Aeronology. This approach allows for seamless integration with existing TMC services and provides a comprehensive solution for all parties involved.
The launch of Taero comes at a time when the travel industry is rapidly evolving, with new technologies and distribution models reshaping the way bookings are made. By connecting to major distribution systems and offering self-service capabilities, Taero aims to stay ahead of these changes and provide a solution that meets the needs of businesses and travelers in today’s digital age. With its focus on collaboration and service improvements, Aeronology hopes that Taero will become a go-to tool for TMCs and corporate booking users, offering them a more efficient and cost-effective way to manage their air travel needs.
