Australian travel technology provider Aeronology has launched a corporate booking tool called Taero. Taero is designed to complement and service bookings that are not available through online booking tools. The aim of this tool is to simplify and reduce costs while increasing productivity for travel management companies (TMCs) and corporate air channel services. Taero connects to all New Distribution Capability (NDC), low-cost carrier, and global distribution system (GDS) passenger name records (PNRs) generated by TMCs.
Taero offers connectivity to all three major GDSs as well as China’s TravelSky. It also has proprietary technology that connects and provides full self-service for NDC bookings with airlines such as Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian, and Emirates. The company plans to add British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, and American Airlines to its offering in the near future. Taero also includes content from low-cost carriers Jetstar and Scoot.
The booking tool allows users to self-service by changing flights, managing bag allowances and seats, and submitting special service requests such as meals and mobility needs. It also connects to visa, health, and passport requirements. Aeronology’s middleware approach means it plans to collaborate with the TMC of the customers using Taero, even if those customers are contracting directly with Aeronology. Self-service applications will be provided to the TMC, and Taero can connect via API to TMC services such as reporting, hotels, carbon footprint calculation, and traveler compliance and safety.
The Taero business model aims to improve service levels at all levels of the air booking process while saving costs for TMCs, corporate travel arrangers, and travelers. Aeronology expects large cost savings for TMCs, corporate travel arrangers, and travelers through Taero’s overall service improvements. Aeronology’s founder and CEO, Russell Carstensen, emphasizes that Taero’s marketing focus will be directed towards TMCs and corporate booking tool users.
In summary, Aeronology’s Taero is a corporate booking tool designed to complement and service bookings not available through online booking tools. It aims to collaborate with TMCs and corporate air channel services to simplify processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity. Taero connects to major GDSs and NDCs, and it offers self-servicing capabilities for flight changes, managing seats and baggage, and special service requests.
