A teenager has been arrested after hundreds of students trashed an Airbnb during an unexpected, drunken party which caused thousands of dollars in damages.
A 16-year-old Kelvin Grove boy was taken into custody on Tuesday after a ‘family’ booking for a property in East Brisbane turned into a wild, booze-filled night.
Officers had searched the boy’s home and seized evidence related to the out-of-control party which a spokesperson labelled as a ‘large disturbance’.
Airbnb host Benjamin Holt had received a reservation from a member of what he thought was a family-of-five for his home on Geelong Street over the weekend.
However, the booking profile was fake and an open-invitation to the house party was sent via Snapchat, with about 500 teenagers piling into the house on April 5.
What then became a wild party was organised by students from private school Brisbane Boys’ College, The Courier Mail reported.
Police were eventually called to shutdown the event, causing hundreds of teenagers…
