CHICAGO — While Halloween is just around the corner and celebrations are already getting underway, Airbnb is working to prevent guests from using their listings to host parties by deploying “heightened anti-party defenses” ahead of the holiday.
According to Airbnb, anti-party defenses are put in place in the US and Canada in an effort to “help reduce the risk of disruptive parties and promote positive stays over the holiday.”

The system used to deter party bookings utilizes technology that works to identify one-night and two-night booking attempts of entire homes, that Airbnb said are at a higher risk for parties, and works to stop them from being made.
The system also analyzes a handful of signals, like last-minute bookings, length of the stay and distance to the listing, which could indicate the potential risk of a disruptive party.
