ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A man who police found with blood on his hands and hopping on one foot down an alley, who reportedly jumped from a third-story window of an Airbnb in the Central West End, is now charged with burglary.
St. Louis prosecutors charged 35-year-old Joseph Lawrence on Sunday with second-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools, both felonies. Court records do not show if he is in custody. A no-bond warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to a St. Louis Metropolitan Police probable cause statement, on Saturday the property manager of an Airbnb in the 4400 block of West Pine Boulevard found an apartment door on the third floor open and initially thought a guest had arrived early.
The manager called the police after calling the guest and confirming he was not there. Officers arrived on the floor and announced they were there, and the door closed, according to the statement. The officer said he heard the door lock and a window open.
