In a press release distributed this morning, Visit Milwaukee unveiled an ambitious proposal to upcycle the abandoned boat on Lake Michigan’s lakeshore and convert it into the city’s most avante-garde accommodation experience, scheduled to welcome its first guests in summer.
“In 2024, Milwaukee welcomed over 9 million visitors, including those who came specifically to stare bewilderedly at abandoned vessels on our beautiful shores,” reads the press release. “For this reason, VISIT Milwaukee is thrilled to unveil its plans to ‘rock the boat’ by unveiling a truly unique Airbnb experience inside the infamous “Deep Thought” vessel, the boat abandoned on Lake Michigan’s shore in October of 2024.”
