Indonesia’s national railway company, KAI, has begun selling long-distance tickets for the annual Eid homecoming or “mudik” holiday. The company has made 313,526 seats available for travel between 12-21 April, 10 days prior to the multi-day festival, which officially starts on 24 April. Tickets can be purchased via the KAI Access app, the kai.id homepage and other official sales channels. Last year, some 6.5 million people travelled home for Eid, with around 90% of those making the journey by road.
