A woman was forced to pay £1,200 for a same-day British Airways flight after being denied boarding from her original flight due to a minor mark on her passport. Laila March and her sister booked a trip to Cancun via Tui for less than £1,000 per person to celebrate her sister’s graduation. Upon reaching Gatwick Airport, Laila was informed that she could not proceed with the flight because of a slight mark on her passport, despite having just returned from a work trip to Morocco the previous day. As a last resort, Laila was able to secure a flight with British Airways.
