UK-based airlines are required by law to provide a minimum of 28 inches of legroom between a passenger’s headrest and the one in front. According to consumer watchdog Which?, TUI Airways leads the way in offering the most legroom on long-haul flights, with 33 inches of “seat pitch,” although only 17 inches of “seat width.” Emirates and Singapore Airlines come joint second, with 32 inches each. British Airways provides a respectable 31 inches of pitch for long-haul flights, with half an inch more on width compared to TUI, while Etihad and KLM provide the same leg room. TUI is at the bottom end of the scale for short-haul flights, providing only the minimum seat pitch of 28 inches.
