TUI Airways, a UK-based leisure airline, has rebranded its business continuity programme to emphasise the importance of environmental sustainability. The program – previously known as “Project Falcon” – is now called “Project Blue Sky,” with the new name reflecting TUI’s commitment to sustainability, reflected in the reduction of the carbon emissions of its aircraft. Project Blue Sky has four key tenets including a focus on climate-change resiliency, connectivity and reliability, customer experience and innovation. The move comes as environmental groups mount pressure on companies and governments to speed up the fight against climate change. TUI Airways, part of TUI Group, is headquartered in Crawley, Sussex and operates flights from 21 airports in the UK, serving destinations in Europe, Africa, Asia and America.
