Africa’s prime tourist destination is South Africa, followed by Mauritius, Botswana, and Kenya, as per the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) 2024. The TTDI ranks countries based on factors facilitating sustainable growth in the travel and tourism sector, such as enabling environment, infrastructure and services, resources, and sustainability. Ghana ranks ninth in top African tourist destinations, holding the highest position in West Africa.
