The World Tourism Network (WTN) in Bangladesh recently held an Iftar dinner event at Days Hotel in the country’s capital, Dhaka. The event saw more than 100 Muslim attendees break their fast and enjoy a banquet meal. The Bangladesh Chapter of the WTN organised the event, with its chairman, Mr HM Hakim Ali, also highlighting the importance of the tourism industry in the country. Ali addressed concerns around the impact of COVID-19 on the tourism industry, and stressed the need for collaboration between government and private sector tourism bodies to ensure the sector’s viability. The World Tourism Network operates in 130 countries and works to support sustainable tourism practices.
