The Bangladesh chapter of the World Tourism Network (WTN) recently hosted its second Iftar Party in the capital city, Dhaka, to bring local tourism leaders together to discuss the future of the industry in the country. The event, which was organised by WTN Bangladesh Chapter Chairman Mr. H.M. Hakim Ali, was attended by representatives of Bangladesh’s public and private sectors including former CEO of the Bangladesh Tourism Board, Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir, and former Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, Mr. Abu Tahir Muhammad Zaber. During the event, Mr. Ali spoke about the importance of the tourism sector in Bangladesh, its resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for collaboration between the government and the private sector to make Bangladesh a top tourist destination in the region. Participants expressed their commitment to working together to promote the sector. The World Tourism Network is a global initiative in 130 countries looking out for small and medium-sized tourism businesses, with membership open to all travel and tourism professionals.
