This is the first time in five years that the influential industry event has been held outside the United States.
The event is expected to attract 8,000 participants, of which 6,000 will come from all over the world, the HKTB said in a press release on Sunday.
Kenneth Wong, a general manager of the HKTB, said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government and HKTB jointly provided all-round support to the organizer CoinDesk when bidding for the event, including lining up the organizer and relative parties.
