Typhoon Trami has failed to dampen spirits at the Hong Kong Wine and Dine Festival, with 155,000 visitors attending the five-day event and some vendors recording double or triple-digit revenue growth compared with last year.
Vendors told the Post on Sunday, the last day of the event, that the heavy rains brought on by the storm a day earlier had not dissuaded patrons and noted a rise in the number of tourists at the festival.
Conte Chung Nam-kwok, CEO of Maple International Enterprise, said business at its wine-selling booth was up as much as 200 per cent from last year.
