The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China announced the expansion of the list of national tourism and recreation zones by 22 new places. The country now has a total of 85 of them. The new zones are located in different regions of the country and offer a variety of attractions both on water bodies, mountains, coasts and other unique locations.
The decision comes within the framework of a strategy to develop tourism and improve tourism services launched by China in 2015 with the recognition of several sites as national tourism and recreation zones.
