The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation in Nepal has terminated the appointments of all tourism goodwill ambassadors. Minister Sudan Kirati announced that all sitting goodwill ambassadors have been removed by approving the Tourism Promotion Relating Procedures, 2079 BS. The decision also replaces the term “goodwill ambassadors” with “tourism promoters.” However, the new procedure leaves the door open for possible reappointment after fulfilling the necessary processes. The appointment of goodwill ambassadors was a pre-existing practice. Additionally, the Ministry plans to write to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make efforts to schedule flights to various cities in India from Nepalgunj Airport.
