The Nepali Consulate General in New York held an interactive event on Thursday to promote tourism between Nepal and the United States. The event, commemorating the 75th anniversary of Nepal-US diplomatic relations, attracted speakers from both countries who discussed tourism potential and challenges in Nepal. Acting Consul General Bishnu Prasad Gautam highlighted Nepal’s tourism potential and encouraged Americans to visit the country. Joebert Opulencia, President of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s New York chapter, urged travel operators to include Nepal on their lists of top destinations. Vanessa O’Brien, the keynote speaker, shared her experiences of visiting Nepal and encouraged others to explore the country’s natural and cultural heritage. Additionally, Turkish Airlines’ New York Regional Manager Alp Ozama announced that the airline would help to promote Nepalese tourism by directly connecting America and Nepal. Overall, the event aimed to boost tourism between Nepal and the US and promoted Nepal as an international tourism center for both personal and professional development.
