The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Annual Summit and Mart 23 will be held in Pokhara, Nepal, from May 29 to June 1. This marks the first time that the summit will take place in Pokhara since Nepal became an international member of PATA in 1975. The event is jointly organized by the Government of Nepal, the Nepal Tourism Board, and PATA. The organizing committee, chaired by the Nepal Tourism Board’s CEO, will coordinate the summit. The event is expected to attract around 300 representatives from 15 countries and the PATA executive board to discuss topics such as sustainable tourism, crisis management, aviation safety, adventure, and mountainous tourism. The event is expected to boost Nepal’s tourism industry, which has been hit hard by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
