King Charles III’s coronation is scheduled to take place at Westminster Abbey, with dignitaries from several nations in attendance. Nepal, which has been a friendly ally of the United Kingdom for nearly two centuries, will be represented by Foreign Minister Narayan Prakash Saud. Bilateral relations between the two countries are based on tourism, trade, health, education, and the British Gurkha. The United Kingdom was the first country in the world to establish its embassy in Kathmandu and signed a treaty recognizing Nepal as an independent and sovereign nation in 1923. Members of the British royal family have also visited Nepal over the years and expressed their gratitude towards the services provided by the Gurkhas, who have been fighting for the British Army since 1815. While Nepal became a democratic republic in 2008, its relationship with the British royal family remains strong.
