An aircraft of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) landed in the Swat district of Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, resuming the flight operation after a 17-year hiatus, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party said.
“Operations in Saidu Sharif Airport, Swat, resume after 17 years. The inaugural flight of PIA lands in Saidu Sharif Airport. Two flights a week will land in Swat; in next phase, international operations will resume in Saidu Sharif Airport,” a tweet by the PTI read.
