The airline has announced a new route linking Darwin with Singapore which is due to start in December.
It’s expected to add around 60,000 seats annually, which tourism operators hope will boost the Northern Territory’s economy.
Qantas says it has no plans to expand international offerings to South Australia.
The arrival of new aircraft this year, however, could see the return of long-haul flights.
