TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Singapore is one of the most popular travel destinations among Indonesians. From January to November 2023, at least 2.06 million Indonesian citizens made the visit, accounting for nearly half of the total 4.78 million Southeast Asian tourists arriving on the island.
This has encouraged the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to welcome more tourists from Indonesia and Southeast Asia. One of the efforts is strengthening its partnership with Jakarta-based lifestyle super-app Traveloka, which has been in place since 2019.
Melissa Ow, Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board, said the two agreed to improve the tourism experience and gain a better understanding of travelers.
“Collaborating with partners like Traveloka is exceptionally vital, especially in the midst of our latest Made in Singapore tourism campaign,” she said before signing the collaboration with Traveloka, in Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 17.
Melissa added that the Made in Singapore tourism campaign aims to invite tourists to find the ordinary in everyday life as extraordinary through a series of unique experiences that can only be found in Singapore.
Throughout 2023, Singapore remained at the top of flight searches on Traveloka. “Through this collaboration, we are committed to providing travelers with more benefits, including vacation plans in Singapore,” said Caesar Indra, the President of Traveloka.
In 2024, Singapore presents a wide range of exciting events, new attractions, and exclusive deals, from cultural festivals to the Grand Prix Season Singapore to concerts by Coldplay, Taylor Swift, and Bruno Mars, to the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon.
This January, Singapore is hosting several art-themed events, including ART SG 2024 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center from January 19 to 21, ARTWALK 2024 from January 19 to 28 in Joo Chiat and Little India, Light to Night Singapore 2024 visual arts festival from January 19 to February 8, and the Chinese New Year celebrations in Chinatown from January 19 to March 9, 2024.
