Adventure enthusiasts and thrill-seekers will be delighted to know that the world’s longest zip-line is expected to open in Caledon in July, weather permitting.
At 3.2km, SA Forest Adventures’ K3 zip-line is just under 400m longer than the current record-holder, Jais Flight in Ras al Khaimah in the UAE. The project has been several years in the making, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed its construction.
“I spent two years searching for suitable sites all over South Africa. The location had to be both logistically practical and easily accessible. Covid-19 delayed our progress, especially with the opening of the Knysna zip-lines in 2020, which affected our timeline for K3,” said Clinton Lerm, owner of SA Forest Adventures.
