Hospitality stakeholders largely agree there is an increase in attempted cybersecurity attacks on their businesses, the results of our latest poll indicate.
Tourism Update sought the industry’s opinion on this issue after FEDHASA issued warnings of a surge in phishing scams in recent months. More than half of respondents to our poll (52%) said they noticed an increase in such attacks, 26% haven’t and the remaining 22% are “unsure”.
Steven Pieterse, CEO of IT and hotel technology specialist firm Metisware, warned that cybercriminals are targeting large hotel chains and independent establishments.
