The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) predicts that foreign arrivals from Malaysia, India, South Korea, and Russia will reach record numbers in 2024. The prediction follows government initiatives to boost Thai tourism and soft power. Visitor numbers from Malaysia are expected to hit 5 million this year, surpassing the pre-pandemic figure of 4.27 million in 2019. Predicted visitor numbers from India and South Korea are also expected to exceed pre-pandemic levels, with a forecast of 2 million tourists each. Moreover, Russian tourists are expected to reach 1.8 million, outperforming the 1.74 million recorded in 2019. The optimistic estimation was made by ATTA president Sisdivachr Cheewarattanaporn.
